Directions to the Lambert Boathouse at Washington's Landing:

Three Rivers Rowing Association is located just outside downtown Pittsburgh, PA on the Allegheny River.

• If you're traveling down Route 28 (South), turn left at the 31st. Bridge intersection. (Don’t go across the bridge). Turn right at the next light onto River Avenue. Turn left at the next light onto the 30th. Street Bridge to the island. Once you are on the island, we are the third buildings on the left-hand side.
• If you're traveling down Route 279 (South), take the East Street exit. At the 3rd. light (East Ohio Street) turn left and following the sign to Route 28 North. Follow Route 28 until you get to the light and intersection at 31st. Street Bridge. Turn right. (Don’t go across the bridge). Turn right at the next light onto River Avenue. Turn left at the next light on to the 30th. Street Bridge to the island. Once you are on the island, we are the third building on the left-hand side.
• If you’re traveling from the east on Route 376 (Parkway from Monroeville), take the Blvd. Of the Allies exit. Follow the sign to the Cross-town expressway, Route 579, Veteran’s Bridge. As you go across the Veteran’s bridge, go right hand lane following the sign that reads To Route 28 north, Etna Exit Only. Follow Route 28 until you get to the light and intersection at 31st. Street Bridge. Turn right. (Don’t go across the bridge). Turn right at the next light onto River Avenue. Turn left at the next light onto the 30th. Street Bridge to the island. Once you are on the island, we are the third building on the left-hand side.
• If you’re coming through the Liberty tunnel, follow the signs reading Cross-town expressway, Route 579, Veteran’s Bridge. As you go across the Veteran’s bridge, go right hand lane following the sign that reads To Route 28 north, Etna Exit Only. Follow Route 28 until you get to the light and intersection at 31st Street Bridge. Turn right. (Don’t go across the bridge). Turn right at the next light on to River Avenue.
• If traveling from the West (from I-79): 279 North (Parkway West) through Fort Pitt Tunnel tunnel. Go into the tunnel in the left lane. Immediately after you exit the tunnel move into the left lane. The left lane will put you on a ramp to a second bridge. As you climb onto the bridge 2 lanes will appear on the right. Move into the far right lane. This will have you exit off the bridge to the right, away from the football stadium and toward the baseball park, which will be on your right. Take the first exit which is marked 28 North. At this point you have 2 ways to get on the island.

To avoid traffic: take the first exit (Chestnut St.) which is located quickly on the right after you exit 279N. At the bottom of the ramp turn right. Go to the first light (right before a bridge that crosses the Allegheny River) and turn left. It will look like you are on the grounds of the Heinz Plant - you're on public streets so don't worry. Turn right at the first stop sign, then left at the second. You are now running parallel to the River away from the city. Go to the next light and turn right onto the Island.

Faster if no traffic: Take 28N to the 31st Street Bridge - make a right - followed by an immediate right - followed by an immediate left onto the Island.

Taking Public Transportation

Most busses that service Millvale also stop at the 31st Street. If you get off at 31st Street bridge walk up to the 30th street bridge which goes onto the island. Follow this sidewalk down and to the left. TRRA is a quarter mile down this road. You can also hang a left halfway there where a trail crosses the road. This will wind its way to the boathouse.
