2008 Youth Sculling Camp
Three Rivers Junior Rowing offers year-round programs. For information about registering for rowing programs offered during the school year, please proceed to TRJR.
Our Sculling Camp for High School Students is for athletes with rowing experience. Session 1 participants must have rowed during the school year. They need not have sculled before, but they need to have rowing experience. We will cater to all levels (beginner scullers and experienced racers). Session 2 participants should be more of the same, but can also include youth that have completed our 2-week Learn to Row Camps.
Both camps are open to male and female rowers currently in or about to enter High School.
Summer Learn to Row Camps:
The Sculling Camps are for participants who want to learn how to scull and/or improve their skills. Emphasis is on technique refinement, exercise, and the joy of summer rowing.
Session 1 is offered during a period that athletes may be ready to race at the Independence Day Regatta in Philadelphia, July 4-6. This opportunity is not guaranteed and will only happen if coaches and athletes agree that it is appropriate. If athletes want to focus on being competitive they are encouraged to participate in our Competitive Sweep Summer Program: Information
Session 2 is offered as a way for athletes to prepare for the upcoming school year. They will not participate at a race. This program is set up during a time that athletes on our Sweep Team will be able to partake in the fun. It offers three weeks in which athletes can not only stay in shape, but also improve their overall rowing technique. Youth that have been through one of our Learn to Row Camps are welcome to join this session.
