2-Day Masters Team

This team is designed for adults who have at least one on-the-water season of rowing experience (masters, corporate, college and high school teams) and want to become more competitive while still focusing on skill development. Beginning rowers should join the TRRA Beginning Masters team. This team is comprised of a diverse group of men and women of all ages (21+) and backgrounds and meets two days a week. The best time of the year to join the team is January - April while the team is still inside training, but please contact the team as they're usually accepting new members. For contact info, please see below.

Practice Schedule and Coach

The team is coached by Aaron Lucia. Aaron has been with the team since its inception in April of 2008 and is very popular with team members. Aaron rowed locally in high school and also at Syracuse University. He also coaches high school boys for Central Catholic High School.

The practice schedule while the team is on the water is:

Water Practices (approx April - November)
The team meets at Washington's Landing for all practices.
Tuesday evening at 6:15-8:00 pm (on the water by 6:30)
Saturday morning at 8:00-10:00 am

We expect to be on the water through November. The team will continue to practice through the winter-we just move inside. Team members will also be given a chance to move to either the Evening Mixed Masters or Men's or Women's Masters teams during the winter season.

Winter Practices (approx December - March)
Tuesday evening at 6:30-8:00 pm (at Washington's Landing)
Saturday morning at 8:30-10:00 am (at Millvale)

Please contact us before showing up to practice so we can let you know if there are any changes to that day's schedule!

Other Info about the Team:

Practices are not mandatory and the team and coach will work with an individual's schedules as conflicts due to family and work arise. Do remember that the more often you are able to attend, the faster your skills will develop for yourself and the team! In addition to rowing instruction, there will be a strong focus on water safety and equipment handling. This team will attend several regattas throughout the season working with the coach to develop a racing schedule (all race attendance is optional).

To Join:

In addition to the fees outlined, team members will pay separately for personal travel expenses and entry and related fees for any regattas in which they choose to participate. Everyone will be allowed three to four practices before they have to commit with any memberships. Once an individual decides to join the team, they must pay Three Rivers Rowing membership fees as well as team dues which go to pay the coach and maintain the equipment they use. Information about these fees can be found to the right of this page. If you choose to join, you will become a member of one of the top boathouses in the nation. Three Rivers Rowing won the first annual USRowing Club of the Year in 2002 and owns not just one, but TWO of the nicest community boathouses in the nation. If you need more time to decide before committing financially, please contact us and we will work this through with you.
