Winter Rowing League
2007-2008
Extended Hours for more instruction and workouts!
Responding to strong interest in winter rowing fitness and technique development, TRRA offers a program that provides participants with a winter fitness regimen, as well as prepares rowers for the summer season. The Winter Rowing League (WRL) is offered in three sessions during the winter, each season consisting of six weekly practices for any skill level. Come alone or with your summer teammates and company co-workers.
The class will be broken into three divisions: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced.
Beginner - Designed for all newcomers to rowing looking to get involved with the sport, but either still want to learn what it's all about, or are looking for a place to start. Practices will emphasize proper technique, rowing together, and proper instruction and use of common rowing commands.
Intermediate - Perfect for those who already know how to properly row but would like a bit more instruction. This is the class for those who rowed during the beginner days of Summer/Corporate Rowing League. We will skip past the basics and jump right into the instruction and drills required to bring their stroke up to the next level. Prerequisite - At least one beginner WRL class required
Advanced - The next level. This is the class you want to be in if you're looking to stay in shape during the off season and learn the finer points of rowing that seperate the good from the great. Prerequisite - One season on the water, an intermediate WRL class or coach's approval
Minimun of 16 participants needed to hold class.
If you missed your opportunity to participate in the Winter Rowing League, please consider the Summer Rowing League. Novices and Experienced rowers are welcome!
