TRRA is a non profit organization

In 1984, a small group began Three Rivers Rowing with a $4000 loan from the downtown YMCA in order to buy two used four person shells. As the group met frequently and its numbers grew, three guiding principles were established: 1) that a proper boathouse was required to assure future growth, 2) that it was essential to establish rowing programs in local colleges and universities thereby providing the spirit and energy typical of rowing, 3) that Three Rivers Rowing would develop as a community-based organization providing a structure that would foster and sustain rowing among the broadest audience possible.

In 1986, Three Rivers Rowing Association (TRRA) formed as a nonprofit organization under the IRS Code Section 501 (c) 3. TRRA is registered with the Commonwealth's Bureau of Charitable Giving and annually files its financial statements. This information is available to anyone by calling 1-800-732-0999. Additionally, TRRA annually files form 990 (Return of Organization Exempt from Income Tax) with the Internal Revenue Service.
