TRRA Named 2023 Aspen Institute Project Play Champion!

Aspen Institute's Project Play emphasizes youth access to sports, aiming for every child to have the ability, confidence, and desire to be physically active by the age of 12. Each year, Project Play recognizes a small number of community organizations across the nation taking meaningful and specific actions to increase access to youth sports. This year, TRRA was recognized for our Row412 call to action, which provides learn to row activities and encourages continued participation in the sport of rowing for children in the Pittsburgh area.

TRRA was recognized at the 2023 Project Play Summit that was held in Colorado Springs on May 18th along side 19 other organizations nation wide and is the only rowing organization represented in 2023. "Being recognized as a Project Play Champion is a testament to our mission and reinforces TRRA's role as a leader of youth development and wellness" said TRRA Executive Director, Matt Logue.

Youth Rowing Qualifies 8 Crews for Youth National Championships

Three Rivers Youth Rowing is sending 8 crews, the most in one year to date, to the 2023 USRowing Youth National Championships. The team had a dominant performance at the 2023 Midwest Championships earning 4 regional championships, and grand final appearances by over 50% of the team.

The 2023 USRowing Youth Nationals will be held on June 8-11 in Sarasota, Florida.

Masters Travel to Pittsford

The TRRA Masters traveled in mass (3-programs deep) to their first regatta of the season in Pittsford, NY. Just under 30 crews from TRRA competed in this early season race with several strong performances and several crews bringing home medals. "It was great to see all of our programs working together, competing and supporting each other on a perfect day for racing," said TRRA Executive Director Matt Logue.
